New Orleans Fashion Week

Happy Monday Fashionistas!

So growing up loving fashion one of the most intriguing things to me was always fashion week. What was it like? What exactly happened? Who goes? And how can I be one of those lucky people? Well this year I was! I got to experience Fashion Week New Orleans, and I was like a kid in a candy store!
Yes this pretty much sums up my reaction to every moment at Fashion Week.

So let's start with the designers, some of the lineup included Blossom Girl, Fraques Outfitters, Pedram Couture, Luca Falcone, and ended with the fabulous Harold Clarke.

Blossom Girl is a line for tween girls who provides styles more along the lines of what is selling in boutiques right now than the common graphic t-shirt with witty sayings about peanut butter and jelly. It is a perfect line for the mini-fashionista who is always daring to be different.

Here are just a few of the pieces from Blossom Girl's current line, if you want to check out more, head over to blossomgirl.com

Fraques Outfitters made an impression on me because they had a very interesting logo. They sell mens clothing and began their line with some vibrantly colored swimsuits. They were paired with bow ties which made for a fun and upbeat start to their line. They also debuted some other assorted mens fashions, but the focal point of their line was some amazing swimwear!

Pedram Couture quite possibly had one of the most interesting shows during the event I attended. Instead of the usual music through the loud speakers, Pedram brought in a jazz pianist and a jazz singer to provide live music for their line. This was a very interesting idea and definitely caught the attention of the entire audience. The music accompanied Pedram Couture's classic style in a very unique way. Next on my list of interesting designers was Luca Falcone. Falcone produces custom men's suits and they were fabulous. Every suit was a perfect fit and the colors were absolutely vibrant. From paisley bow ties to solid white jackets with black trim, Luca Falcone made a huge splash at Fashion Week.

And the finale of the show was the famous couture designer Harold Clarke. We actually got to visit his private studio and meet him before the show, so of course I was absolutely ecstatic! It was very interesting learning about his design process and how he creates such beautiful gowns. He has designed for many celebrities including Vanna White off of Wheel of Fortune! He told us that when he begins he does not always know where the design will end up, but if you make a mistake he says don't fix it! It may very well be the next new trend!
